SpaceX Achieves Double Launch Day Success with Falcon 9 Flights
SpaceX made headlines on Sunday with a successful double launch day, starting with the flight of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The Starlink 7-17 mission saw the addition of 23 satellites to the growing low Earth orbit constellation.
The mission, which took off from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at 9:09 p.m. PDT, was followed by another successful launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The first stage booster, B1063, supporting this mission made its 17th flight and managed to land on the SpaceX droneship, ‘Of Course I Still Love You.’ This marked the 85th successful landing on OCISLY for the company.
The successful launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base and the subsequent launch from Florida marked the ninth launch for SpaceX from the state in 2024. Additionally, this was the 309th launch of a Falcon 9 rocket to date.
SpaceX continues to make strides in the space industry with their consistent successful launches and landing of rocket boosters. The addition of more satellites to the Starlink constellation will further strengthen the company’s position in providing global internet coverage.
With more launches planned in the coming months, SpaceX is showing no signs of slowing down in their mission to revolutionize space travel and connectivity.
