SpaceX is set for an ambitious tripleheader launch day today, with two launches planned from Florida and a third from California. The first launch is scheduled from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying the Eutelsat36D satellite for Africa and Eurasia. The booster is expected to land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
Following the first launch, SpaceX will launch 23 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Launch Complex 40 at 9:30 p.m. The third launch from California is targeting 10:30 p.m. ET. This tripleheader launch day was made possible by a delay in the Delta IV Heavy launch, allowing SpaceX to take advantage of the clear skies and favorable weather conditions.
The weather is looking good for all three launches, with less than a 5% chance of weather preventing launch. The Falcon 9 booster for the first launch has an impressive history of 12 launches, including the CRS-26 mission for the International Space Station.
In the event of a delay, SpaceX has a backup launch window set for 7 p.m. on Sunday. Despite the excitement of three launches in one day, no sonic booms are expected as all boosters will land on droneships in the Atlantic Ocean.
SpaceX continues to push the boundaries of space exploration with their frequent and successful launches. Stay tuned for updates on these historic launches as SpaceX paves the way for a new era of space travel.
