Man Pulled Over for Driving with Fully-Grown Bull in Passenger Seat in Nebraska
Norfolk, NE – In a bizarre incident that left locals in shock, a man was pulled over by the Norfolk Police Division for driving with a fully-grown Watusi bull in the passenger seat of his car. The incident occurred on 275 eastbound when a concerned citizen contacted the police about the unusual sight.
The man, identified as Lee Meyer, was accompanied by the bull named Howdy Doody during their unexpected joyride. Officers performed a routine traffic stop and were taken aback when they saw a yellow barrier inside the vehicle, apparently meant to keep the bull from roaming.
Expecting a small calf, the officers were surprised to find a fully-grown bull sitting calmly next to Meyer. Although Meyer was found to have committed some traffic violations, the officers decided to issue warnings instead of citations.
This is not the first time Lee Meyer and Howdy Doody have attracted attention. In 2019, Meyer made headlines when he drove the bull down a parade route in town. The float, featuring the bull, won first place at the Kolach Days Parade in Verdigre back in 2017. A video capturing Meyer’s unusual choice of companion quickly went viral and garnered over 2 million views.
Locals have been buzzing with disbelief about the incident, with many remarking, “Only in Verdigre.” The small town is notorious for hosting unique events and encounters.
Contacted for comment regarding the incident, the Norfolk Nebraska Police Division has yet to respond. As speculations about the reason behind Meyer’s decision to take his bovine friend for a spin continue to swirl, residents eagerly await an official statement.
The incident serves as a reminder that unusual and unexpected encounters can happen in even the most peaceful and tranquil areas. As for Howdy Doody, he seems to have taken the whole situation in stride, perhaps unaware of the stir he has caused.
