The Philadelphia Sixers secured their first victory of their West Coast trip by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers with a score of 121-107. Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris led the Sixers with 24 points each, with Maxey scoring 19 of his points in the second half. Cam Payne had a standout performance off the bench, scoring a season-high 23 points and shooting 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
James Harden finished with 12 points and 14 assists for the Clippers. Buddy Hield started in place of Kyle Lowry, who was resting for the first leg of a back-to-back game. Harris got off to a hot start by scoring the first seven points of the game for Philly and finished with 19 points in the first half. The Sixers shot well from beyond the arc in the first quarter, finishing at 7-of-9.
KJ Martin had a strong game against his former team, scoring his first three shots and adding a steal. Harris continued his strong performance in the second quarter, while Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to seven at halftime. The Clippers started the second half strong, scoring the first six points to make it a one-score game.
Paul George came alive in the third quarter, scoring 11 points for the Clippers, but Maxey remained aggressive, adding eight points to keep the Sixers’ lead at five. In the fourth quarter, Maxey and Payne continued their strong play, helping the Sixers take advantage of Clippers turnovers. Paul Reed also had a solid run, blocking two shots and hitting a reverse layup as the Sixers extended their lead. Payne finished with a team-high 23 points for the Sixers in an impressive team victory.
