On March 4, an international crew of four astronauts was successfully launched to the International Space Station (ISS) on NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission. The mission, which carried NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, aims to conduct multiple science experiments and technology demonstrations during their time aboard the space station.
The Dragon spacecraft is set to dock autonomously to the forward port of the station’s Harmony module on March 5. Once onboard, Crew-8 will join the Expedition 70 crew, temporarily increasing the crew count to 11. The research conducted on the space station will not only benefit humanity on Earth but also pave the way for future space exploration missions.
The Crew-8 members include Matthew Dominick as commander, Michael Barratt as pilot, Jeanette Epps as mission specialist, and Alexander Grebenkin as flight engineer. To learn more about NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission and the Commercial Crew Program, visit NASA’s official website.
